What's to Come in 2018?
2017 has been a busy year for the drone industry. With product launches from DJI including the Spark and regular announcements relating to the UK drone regulations, there's been plenty to keep us all occupied. But what's coming in 2018? The main area we're expecting to see changes in is the new UK Drone Bill. The proposed bill was announced at the end of November with an expected release of Spring 2018 for the first draft. The following new regulations are expected to be included:- Registration of drones over 250 grams including the DJI Spark. You will have to present the registration documents if requested by the police
- Mandatory drone safety test for pilots
- Extended powers for the Police to seize drones
- The use of compulsory apps during flight for enhanced safety
- Changes to the Air Navigation Order banning flights within 400ft of airports as well as enhanced geofencing
Thank you to everyone who helped make 2017 successful year for the heliguy™ Training Team and Merry Christmas from all of us at Heliguy.
