To ensure your DJI Mavic 2 gimbal and camera are protected during transportation, it's best to keep your gimbal protector on.
But, it can be tricky when removing the gimbal guard after transit. This can be due to the small components we are dealing with.
By using this tutorial, you will learn how to safely remove your gimbal protector from your DJI Mavic 2.
How to detach the Mavic 2 Gimbal Protector
- Place Mavic 2 Upside Down.
The DJI Mavic 2 is best situated on its back during the removal process. This gives easy access to the gimbal buckles which are used to unhook the gimbal protector.
- Push Down on Gimbal Buckles.
You will see small buckles that latch the gimbal protector to the body of the DJI Mavic 2. Gently push down on these buckles to unhitch the gimbal protector from the DJI Mavic 2 aircraft body.
- Lift Gimbal Protector.
Lift the gimbal protector away from the DJI Mavic 2 in order to pull it away from the aircraft body. Do this process slowly as not to damage the gimbal or camera.
- Slide Gimbal Protector Away.
Once the gimbal is fully pulled back away from the DJI Mavic 2 aircraft body, you can now slide it away.
Now your gimbal protector is removed safely, place it in a secure location.
The gimbal guard is a great piece of kit to have in your drone arsenal. It keeps your gimbal and camera protected against unwanted damage.
Be sure not to fly with your gimbal guard still attached as it can cause the gimbal motors to overload. This may result in damage and deem the aircraft unsafe for flying.
